Remembering 'No on 8,' 2008
As long as we blame 'them' we will face the consequences of ignoring real problems.

Looked to see if I could find the performance artist pictured above, anybody know?
I am remembering when California voted to uphold the gay marriage ban. I and my family marched in the streets to protest. I was very disappointed in my adopted state when it passed. Here is a wiki article:

I know this tactic of dehumanizing a group is popular with some politicians to generate followers, especially if they can get some religious groups on board. Currently Republicans are holding the trophy for this tactic.
This year the targets are Trans and Migrants. In 2008 it was the 'Gay Agenda' and Gay Marriage. Results from using this tactic are deplorable. We end up torturing, even killing, both the young and old. This goes completely against the 'do not murder' and 'do no harm to children' clauses common in many cultures.
In addition, the tactic changes the focus from actual problems to made up ones whose solution changes nothing... still lead in the water, floods killing people, planets temperature rising...
I think any one using that tactic should be put out to pasture and surrounded by embarrassed and loving family. 'There, there, take your meds grandad here is some pie Ann's spouse made...' Loud boo's should surround them when they take the stage or pulpit. Their call to service is not in politics or the ministry.
