Happy Pride here in San Diego. I sat out pride again this year but here is a look at past Pride where I asked everyone (with Roberta's help) "what are you proud of?" then printed them a picture... oh, and did nipple prints where people wrote down obsessive thoughts (tainted milk)
The fire pit is almost done. First firing will probably be in a couple weeks. The heavy steel lid ($360) arrives between August 8th and 26th. I just have to tidy things up a bit... tore the yard up in the process. Maria, Patty, Elsa, Diane, and Lora (and me) hope to use it for staining and smoking in interesting ways bisc'd work they have ready. This is an extension of the pit Maria and I dug during our 10 day residence at the Desert Dairy... this has taken much longer...
I hope to do some face and torso images using these as underprints (just showing the face for this SFW newsletter) and then scribbling on the top with micron and posca pens (among other things). Should be awesome 6x18"
Dragging my feet on the latest 6x18" of Angelica... I will get on it, already made a second underprint cause I think I may need some collage to save it.
Next month is my 70th birthday. I feel a little late to the party since a lot of people I know have already crossed this barrier. I think 69 is the age several of my ancestors ducked out. With any luck I won't be part of that Davis subset... a month to go!
