EXHIBITION CELEBRATION
JUNE 8, 2024 to September 15th
(760) 435-3721 www.oma-online.org/disruption
704 Pier View Way, Oceanside, CA 92054

This exhibition, juried by John Seed, Aleah Chapin, and Timothy Robert Smith explores representational art that has been reshaped and “disrupted”—including by abstraction, web-based imagery, and socio-political concerns—in response to contemporary life and its challenges.

Inspired by John Seed’s book of the same name as well as his earlier book Disrupted Realism: Paintings for a Distracted World. It also celebrates OMA’s mission to share the art and stories of Southern California artists. Jurors and featured artists Aleah Chapin and Timothy Robert Smith are among the artists in the book More Disruption: Representational Art in Flux. Their work will be presented along with work by 48 Southern California-based artists selected from an open call.

Made possible with support from the Negri Foundation and Lisa Bebi of the Artist Mentor Project.

The two pieces I have in the show (framed and everything) are 'Train Play, 2-1-2024' and 'Solo-Play, 11-30-2023.'
